Slides Hotkeys provides customizable keyboard shortcuts and a searchable cheat sheet for Google Slides. This policy describes the extension’s data handling.
Local processing
The extension runs on Google Slides presentation editing pages. It checks the current editor context, reads menu labels and availability, and processes keyboard events to recognize configured shortcuts and invoke the commands you request. This processing takes place in your browser. The extension does not maintain a log of your typing, browsing history, or presentation content.
Information stored on your device
Slides Hotkeys uses chrome.storage.local to save your shortcut assignments, selected profile, language preference, enabled or paused state, and floating-button preference. It reads the browser’s interface language and platform information to choose appropriate labels and defaults. It also temporarily remembers the last repeatable command within the current Slides tab; that memory is cleared when the tab reloads.
The extension does not use chrome.storage.sync. If you export your settings, it creates a JSON file on your device. Importing settings reads the file you choose and applies those preferences locally. No settings export or import is uploaded by the extension.
Transmission and sharing
Slides Hotkeys does not send your keyboard interactions, settings, presentation content, or browsing activity to ombüro or to third-party servers. It contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The publisher does not receive, sell, or share data from the extension.
Google Slides continues to handle your presentation and save edits through Google’s own services. This is separate from the extension. Links to Google’s shortcut documentation and the ombüro developer website open external websites only when you choose to follow them. Those websites are governed by their own privacy policies.
Your controls
You can change or remove shortcut assignments, change language, pause shortcuts, and hide the floating button in Settings. Removing the extension removes its local extension storage. Any settings files you exported remain on your device until you delete them.
Changes to this policy
If the extension’s data handling changes, this policy will be updated to describe the new behavior.
